Homemade Preserved Lemon
Preserved lemon recipe
Ingredients
8 Lemons
500g Table Salt
Here’s how
Cut the lemons in half and juice into a bowl.
Place the juice in the fridge and use for homemade lemonade or a nice lemon curd.
Cut the juiced lemons in half again so you have them in quarters and place in a mixing bowl with the table salt.
Stir together, before transferring into a preserving jar.
Make sure all the salt is packed on top of the lemon.
Put the lid on and place in the fridge for 4 weeks.
Once the lemons are preserved, remember to wash off the salt before using in your cooking.
You can keep the preserved lemons in the fridge for 4-6 months.
