Garlic, Ham and Brie Bread
Ingredients
2 cloves of garlic crushed and chopped
1 tsp of dried oregano
100g of butter
1 large shop bought sour dough loaf
5 slices of cured ham such as Parma or Serrano
250g Brie cut into 10 small pieces
1 handful of fresh rosemary
1 tbsp of fresh thyme
10 fresh bay leaves
Here’s how
Pre heat the oven to 170c.
Place the garlic, butter and oregano into a small pan and leave on a low heat to melt.
Meanwhile using a bread knife cut 10 even slices into the loaf without cutting all the way though, this will make sure the loaf stays whole.
Cut the slices of ham into two pieces and place each slice into the cuts in the bread.
Cut the cheese and place in the bread next to the ham.
Place a bay leaf and a spring of the rosemary and thyme in with the ham and cheese, then finally mix together the garlic butter before spooning into the slices and all over the bread.
Place the bread onto a non stick baking tray and cook in the oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the butter has soaked into the bread.
